Mr. Bo Jangles was a shelter cat who chose my brother when he and his wife visited the local Humane Shelter in Tacoma, Washington. Bo’s life before finding us was one of the betrayals of trust and survival on the streets.
The shelter told my brother that Bo’s previous owners had left him when they moved away and he was living on the streets when a lady witnessed him get hit by a car. She brought him to the shelter explaining his story as she knew it.
Bo was severely undernourished and was sick. This didn’t matter to my brother when Bo reached out and grabbed his attention. It was instant love. He came to live with us and it took him quite a while to warm up to anyone but my brother. My brother gave him the medicine that was prescribed and slowly Bo warmed up to the rest of us.
When Bo came to live with us, he never purred and never showed his belly. It took a couple years before one day he began to purr. It was the most beautiful sound in the world. Not long after he began rolling over on his back and showing us his belly. Our street cat had found HOME.
Bo now purrs constantly and loves to head butt and give kisses. His tail is almost constantly in a question mark. He has come a long way from being abandoned and left to die. He has become the most Jangliest Bo in the world and we love him to pieces.
Of course there is never enough room for everyone when someone is a window hog. That’s okay. I’ll just use you for a cushion. ~Dominic
“Zzzzz” ~Bo Jangles
I thought about calling this post “Da Birds” but decided to just title it as you see.
I grew up being told that birds fly south for the winter. I grew up in West Central Illinois. For some reasons I always thought of Florida never Texas. As you can see they do come here to the Lone Star state.
This was at the end of the day. And doesn’t even begin to show all of the feathered creatures. Of course I had to get one with them in flight.
Okay, I have to do it. “Da birds, da birds. 🐦☺️
I hope you all enjoy this Black Cat Holiday aka Halloween aka All Hallow’s Eve… you get the picture. I am patiently waiting for the witching hour. I hope your day is filled with laughter and lots of candy.
For their safety, please keep your kitties inside on this day. It may fun for us, but for others, it is a time for mischief and mayhem. We need to keep our furbabies safe and happy.
Snoozing and conserving my energy for tomorrow night. After all, it is The Black Cat Holiday.
Please remember to keep your kitties inside tonight and tomorrow because it is an ugly world out there filled with people who would hurt them on this holiday. And remember that black cats aren’t bad luck, they bring you the best kind of luck with a whole lot of love added in.
This is your wake up call. Time to get going. Enjoy your day.
What? I was filing this away for a rainy day. It is a bit big for the top drawer but it is definitely top shelf. 😉
Come back to bed Meowmy, snuggling is the greatest way to start the weekend. I mean, how can you resist a cuddle buddy like me? ~Neko
Neko has his serious face on. He looks like a real boss kitty. The truth is his pain medicine has kicked in and he is feeling just right.
Can you see me? I love this chair. It compliments my gorgeous fur just perfect, don’t you think? ~Neko
Woke up to the rose bush outside my bedroom full of these beautiful pink roses. I am always cheered by them. Fun part of living in Texas is that they bloom year round.
A red rose blossoms in a flower bed that holds only dead plants from the previous year. It proves life will find a way because this rose happens to be wild.
I noticed it fighting to break the soil last summer and thought it would not survive the winter. It just had to prove me wrong. Our roses are in another flower bed and not a red one in the bunch. Still trying to figure out where the red one came from.
