A red rose blossoms in a flower bed that holds only dead plants from the previous year. It proves life will find a way because this rose happens to be wild.
I noticed it fighting to break the soil last summer and thought it would not survive the winter. It just had to prove me wrong. Our roses are in another flower bed and not a red one in the bunch. Still trying to figure out where the red one came from.
Some of my followers may know that I am a writer as well as a blogger. Well here is the proof in black and white. My first draft of my first book is complete.
The story developed while I was trying to come up with subject matter for a blog to write and associate with my author’s platform. I decided to use the cats as models for my book’s characters. Thus Tales of The Cat’s Eye Gang was born.
As I said I have finished the first draft and I welcome you to read it in all of its unedited glory on my sister site:
When bathing, always remember to clean in all the grooves. Just like I am showing here by cleaning in between my toes. I know. Toe jam is a draw back but the things one does to be a handsome fella like me. ~Dominic
Hi. My name at this house is Spooky. I am known by several in the neighborhood. I rule this backyard like a kingdom. I don’t let any other cats trespass in it. I have a older twin who lives inside. We like to mirror each other at the patio door.
It took awhile for the woofie inside to like me but now he will share my food and water which the nice humans provide for me. He also warms up a spot for me to sleep at night. Good woofie.
When I was a kitten I got injured and I came to this backyard to heal. The people really worry about me like I am one of their own. Well I think of them as mine so it is equal.
I still find it hard to believe how tiny he was. All long legs. He reminded me of a spider monkey. And he was a clinger from the first moment I held him. He climbs up on my shoulder and that is where he stays as we walk around the house.
We both were searching for comfort when we found each other and I can only hope I have given him as much comfort as he has given me. He is my light in the darkness.
